Honestly, the best advice I have for you is RELAX! ![]() If you don't have medicals the day you lodge, it's not a huge deal. Yes, it will take longer, but it's not worth blowing a gasket over. Same thing for the FBI check. If it's not back, then it's not back. Just tell them that and when you get it, send it to them. |

Thing is, every person I've talked to at Immi has stressed that the app *must* be complete or it can be refused right then and there. They want *everything*! Unless every one of them is trying to scare me, then something has changed in their rules. |

Good luck to you! I had my medicals done in Perth and got them straight away the same day well 2nd day as it is a 2 day process. They said if I was willing to wait 30 minutes and of course I was. I applied in person and did my best to have everything with me. |

Depends on what their definition of "complete" is. They're not going to refuse your application because you're missing an FBI check because it's still processing. It's not your fault that it's not back yet, it could be all kinds of things. Now, if you're missing 5 forms, don't have any 888s, didn't do your statements etc, then that's a different ball game. Just control what you have control over, and don't stress overly about the rest. |

We're pretty much complete thankfully Had the medicals today in Southern Cross, then the chest x-ray in Merriden (an hour drive), so that's done! We have to do our "story of us", and have Mum do her stat dec, and get a few things notarized and that should be it... other than being sure we have all the money *groans* Honestly, why these things have to *cost* so much! I do have the proof I sent for the FBI thing, just in case though! |

Honestly, I'm trying not to stress Just my nature, I guess. On the good news side, my blood pressure seems to be holding at a good level, even without meds! This is the second time in two weeks it's been taken with no comment by the doctor other than that it's good! I'm having high hopes that I'll get off some of the damn meds I've been on for so long... I keep saying Jason is my calming rock ![]() |

that's just bs that they said they can refuse it with out it being absoluely complete. because TONS of people don't have every single item of their app complete! wtf?! if that was the case, they would refuse a majority i think! besides, up until just recently we were advised not to do the medical until requested. therefore, that would be an incomplete application. what an irritating bogus statment by whoever you spoke to. no wonder people freak out and get all kinds of stress related illness and such when they go through this process |

I think what they were trying to say is that if you show up with blank forms and a smile then they'll just go, "Uh, no thanks, we don't want to deal with this." I mean if they just glance through the forms and see obvious omissions like *oops no form 47sp, any 888s or 80* then they probably would just say, "No, you complete your application and then we'll start this process." On the other hand, if you're missing medicals and an FBI check, but have everything else in order, they'll put it all in and then request the missing info. It's unfortunate that they used the word "complete" because who knows what that means exactly? I filed mine missing a police check from a country I lived in for over a year, and they granted it without it. Was it "complete"? I guess it was complete enough. ![]() Ultimately you can only control so much in this process and you're just along for the ride on the rest. Instead of worrying about the ride part, just focus your worrying on the things that you can control. Make the application very well organised. Do up little colourful cover sheets for the sections. (Mine had Australia maps on them. I cropped out New Zealand of course.) Whenever you get the urge to freak out, proof read your statement, or organise some sheets, etc. Just get your part together and everything else should fall into place. Maybe not as quickly as you want, but you can't control it, so relax!

Yeah, I'm taking deep breaths a lot. We got a few more things done today, ie, a printout from Centrelink showing that they know I exist and Jason and I are married, a statement from the bank, etc. And I'm bribing Mum with lamingtons to finish her damn stat dec ![]() |

I am never gonna hear the end of my long thread, am I? Well, I'd rather have one long one, than tons of tiny ones, long as Tors doesn't mind ![]() We have everything done but a certified copy of his birth certificate, which we'll get Monday. We made quick wills and will have Mum and Dad witness them, I guess. I'm honestly not sure if it has to be non-relatives on that one... I guess we can ask the pharmacist if he has any idea when we go get the b.c. notarized. So, we're as set as we're gonna be, I think... |

22/07/2009 - Application officially lodged. Case officer in Perth office is JJ. We have 28 days to get my health check and FBI records to him.. We think the FBI check may be at the house, we'll see. We're going to wait to get back to Kalgoorlie to get me signed up for Medicare. I'm going to have to deal with name change hassle, cause my passport is in my maiden name, which they're using at Immi *SIGHS* And I have to pay $108 to change that! Freaking government.. He told me it's 2-4 weeks for a final decision once all the paperwork is in. |

Your Australian marriage licence should be proof enough for a name change on things like bank accounts, Medicare cards, driver's licence, etc. (A foreign marriage licence is a different story) That's all I used. I didn't get my passport changed for nearly 18 months!

The waiting is the worst part!!!! it's been nearly a month since I submitted and I think I may go crazy, it would be a lot easier with the boy around... Luckily you have Jason with you! Btw, congrats on the wedding and congrats on submitting the visa application!Did you get a letter from your specialists detailing your conditions? I think the C.O. and whatever panel MD is reviewing your medicals may want a letter from any type of specialist that you have seen. Good luck!
