Thanks, blarg :hugs: I know I'm whinging, I just can't hold it in sometimes! Thankfully Jason is patient, so he doesn't mind it but I like to spare him sometimes ;)

Well, I finally did call today. The lady told me that it's still in processing, and it looks as if I'll be getting yet another new CO *sighs heavilly* C'mon, what's so damn complicated that they can't just approve it? :( This is really starting to depress me..

awww Pamm :hugs: They really *do* have a high turnover-rate @ Immi, Greg knows several people now that have switched to there from Customs and have come back in a short time, because it's such a mess. I think that's the biggest hold-up, nobody ever gets through the pile that keeps getting handed over :(
Pleease try not to get depressed... IT WILL HAPPEN!!! :yaay: :woohoo: :yaay:

tick... tick... tick..

I think Duchess is taking her cue on when she should have kittens from Immi!

For those who don't know, Duchess is Mum's cat, gorgeous tortoiseshell who became a housecat, and Pepper's best buddy, about two months ago. And she's *huge* with kitten, but holding onto them stubbornly! :rollin:

This is either good or bad... Jason has to go to Career Contacts (he's on NewStart), and one of the lovely ladies there is going to be contacting Immi, because of the stress of waiting for my spouse visa. He says it's part of their job while he's trying to find work to help him in any way possible.

...course at this point the Ombudsman is going to get a long, long letter about Centrelink and thier bullshit. They have yet to send us official documents so we can appeal their idiocy in saying we owe them money for *before* we got married! I still don't get why they could take money from him when we told them we got married. They didn't even ask if my income had to be used for bills of mine (it does) before telling him they were cutting his check! Governments *mutters evilly*

We ain't just appealing, we're going over their heads!

I'm hoping the Career Contacts lady will be able to convince them to at least move faster, Jason needs to call them Monday and give them my case number. I think that'll help ;)

I've sent the Career Conctact lady all the info she needs to contact Immi. She's a hard worker, and perisitant, so if there's anything she can do, she'll definitely do it.

Yes, they are fine, getting on with their lives, and STILL waiting for their Spouse visa! :(

Any word on what the new holdup is? This is getting to be quite silly.

They must be either over it or so sick of waiting. :-(

That's crazy. And scary since I plan on applying for one later this year.

I'd be interested in knowing if there are some specific hang ups or if it's just taking them a long time for no apparent reason...but obviously they stopped posting about it for a reason.

Anyhow, GL to them.

It depends where you apply, apparently onshore applications can take longer then the offshore ones lodged overseas. Our application in Washington is said to take up to 6 months. We heard from our CO after about 6 weeks, that having reviewed the application he requires meds and pcc now, so we are just waiting on the FBI checks which seem to have a bit of a backlog.

If you have the time, it can be put to good use getting all the required documents ready. It took us a while to get stat decs done with the required notarisation on the form from Australian citizens.

Hope this helps.
N400 approved Sep 2009.

I applied onshore and I had the visa label in 4 weeks. And the 4 week wait time was to get a waiver from Canberra for a police certificate I couldn't get from Nicaragua. If I hadn't have lived there or didn't need the certificate for whatever reason I would have gotten it on the spot.

I think it all depends on what your circumstances are, how prepared your application is, and how lucky you get with managing to keep one case officer through the entire process.

I don't think Onshore normally takes a longer time than Offshore. I applied onshore and it took exactly 14 days. Mind you I had preloaded everything when we handed in the app in person. Like Blarg said, I think it depends on the situation though and how many hurdles you have to get across.
