Yeah :woohoo: for submitting your application!

I would go to the panel doctor in Cinci, i had a really good experience there. The doc was very thorough and very nice. The office knew how to fill out the paperwork correctly and they even called me to give me the tracking number once the medicals were sent to the embassy (i didn't have to hound them for the number). Dont know much about the MD panel doctor... maybe someone around the forum went to that doctor and can give you advice.

How is John enjoying his stay in the States? BTW congrats on the engagement :lurve:

Awww thanks!!! I"m not sure what to do with myself now everything is done and he's gone :( We changed our minds and decided not to go in person (long story on that one) but at any rate, it's in!!!! I can't believe it was 40.00 to mail that huge of stuff off.

John is back in Oz. We had a wonderful time when he was here. The beach was nice and relaxing for the both of us. Visiting friends and family was very nice as well. As luck would have it the family, friends just absolutely loved him!!! They could instantly see why I love him they way I do (even the one sister who wasn't supportive at first is now his biggest fan and she's all for me moving now...lol even wants to come visit! --go figure) lol. I am thinking about Cincy because of the good things I've heard on here. I spoke to MD today on the phone and they were really really nice. results only take 5-7 days and it's 320.00 cash. ( I havent figured that one out why they all demand cash and not a credit card, etc) I'm going to schedule them within the next few weeks.

How is your medical going? did it all work out?

:hugs: we're in this together

I was able to pay with credit card in Cinci--they wouldnt accept a personal check though. My results were ready in a week but they couldn't be sent out b/c i had to get some supporting documentation. Maybe you should go to the MD panel doctor so you can give others YDUers an opinion/assessment of them--take one for the team! Honestly, it doesn't matter which doctor you see since any panel doc will answer the form questions the same way! I was more concerned about how the offices handled my medicals (ie sending them to the right place, providing tracking numbers, etc). I've read too many horror stories about medicals gone missing or sent to the wrong place... But that's just me, I fret over anything and everything!

Opps...I asked you in the other thread if you lodged...guess you have :-)

Now the fun part begins...waiting. Not fun, I know. Hopefully the time flies.

LOL about your sister. Funny how things change once they actually meet the person.

Well just an update, no official email this week advising me who my CO is, hopefully I will get that next week. I scheduled my medical exam for the 31st of August. I decided to play it safe and go to Cincy since I've seen good reviews from them.

I keep going through my mind did I forget to send something, did i send enough, blah blah blah. Just worried about the whole process, but I suppose that's normal. Wish my guy was here with me, I miss him :(

Credit card charged 1280.00 for visit processing, wow they didn't waste any time on that one but I'm not complaining because they didn't hit me with the increased price.... Hmmm wonder why?

It does. I find myself replaying everything in my mind and hoping I didn't forget anything and making myself nuts. I talk to my guy every day but it's not the same, I can't wait to be with him :hugs:

Hmmm Laurie, I think they did charge you the increased price... When I submitted in late June, I was charged 1035... but when looking at the big picture, it's not that much of an increase--could be worse!

Hang in there :hugs:

Hang in there, Laurie, time does pass. It took Jason and I six years to finally meet in person, and we married 3 months later (more or less). And now it seems those six years were just a brief blip in our lives :)

Thanks Pamm :hugs: It just makes me sad. I know the whole process only takes 8ish weeks, but right now it seems like forever to me. I'm trying to keep busy, and I thought this would be cakewalk, but UGH :pop:

Don't hold your breath for 8-ish weeks, either, Hon, shit happens. Mine wasn't even looked at for 4 months. Then I needed a report from a specialist, and that took another 6 weeks. After a 6-YEAR long-distance engagement, it was Hell. But it'll happen, and it's WORTH IT!!! :hugs:

I'm telling myself that my visa will take several months... then anything shorter than that is a total bonus! :eggplant: :eggplant:

I found that once I finished my medicals, I was able to concentrate on other things--well, that's a lie. BUT I am not thinking about this visa constantly after my medicals. Because once those are finished, it's really out of your hands... You've finished your part, now it's up to the Australian Visa Gods.

Chin up! At least we're in this together :hugs:
