Due to the successful turnout at the BCS gamewatch a few weeks ago, the Light Brigade Hotel has offered the use of their 103in plasma again for the Superbowl. The hotel will open early as the game coverage starts at 10am and are also working on a special menu (more details to come as I get them). I do realize the game is on Monday morning (thus difficult for us 8-5ers), but I thought I would pass it along for those of you who may be interested. What: Superbowl 2010 - Colts v. Saints Where: The Light Brigade Hotel, 2a Oxford St (Cnr Oxford St and Jersey Rd), Woollahra, NSW, 2025 When: Monday 8th February 2010, coverage starts at 10am Who: Anyone interested in watching some American Football |

I will be soaking it up with a gang of lunatics at Star City Sports Theater...It will be on the big screen...one of 50. I fully expect to be shushed by management at least three times before I am eventually kicked out. Go The Saints! |

Hey People, not to dismiss anyone else's Super Bowl Party, as I'm sure they're all gonna be great and fun, but just wanted to let you all know that the James Squire Brewhouse in Darling Harbour, on the King Street Wharf, is going to be having a big one of their own. In addition to the game being played on multiple big screens throughout the place, they're also having a $25 dollar all you can breakfast buffet that basically goes all day long. I went last year and it was madness, the place was packed, the food was actually pretty damn good, and of course the beers were flowing. So, if anyone is looking for something to do, I highly recommend it. I'll be there, cheering for the Saints, hope to see you guys there. Cheers. |

So after a few beers, I spent some time teaching an Irish guy and his Aussie friend some of the finer points of the game, like the knee-down rule for the end zone (though I'm not sure that applies to professional football), and how the downs system worked. |

How lucky am I?!?!?!! My co-workers know how bummed out I am when I miss out on American traditions like the Super Bowl, so this morning they turned on the game in the tea room and the waiting room and the big screen in the board room and we watched the game at work!! I have the BEST job in the world!!!! |

I asked the guy at the gym to turn it on while I was doing my work out...I think I pissed off the other middle aged ladies who were enjoying watching the infomercials on Sunrise. |

The sports theater at Star City is Fan-fucking-tastic! Too bad the staff completely underestimated the crowd that would come...they were expecting ~120, and they got over 700 (most of them hot guys, too;)!! Woo Hoo, what a party, what a game, what a finish! Especially since we won $133.50!! I am tempted to go back for Italian Football at 3 in the morning just because it is such a great venue! |
