I'd be very careful if I were you. Using someone else's Medicare card to obtain services illegally (since you're not entitled to them yourself) falls under "Medicare fraud", and if caught, the penalties are quite steep for everyone involved. Just FYI. |

Not familiar with Celtic Thunder. What's the name of the new CD? I'm going to be in country late April, maybe I could score it here for you and post it once I'm there. Jon |

Shylady: Compare Damian at 14 and at 16. But my favorite is Paul. His personality is fantastic, and I am a total sucker for a classically-trained tenor. Helpless, in fact. Edited by CynicalCountess, Feb 11 2010, 06:12:56 PM.

Did some checking for you (I'm somewhat of a record collector )... It's Entertainment has not been released in Australia and no date in the immediate future, hence not available on Aussie iTunes. In fact, as far as I can tell, none of their albums have ever been released domestically. If you want it, you've got to import it. (or, well, use "alternative methods"...)Chaos.com (an online Aussie music retailer) is selling it as an import for $21.99: http://chaos.com/product/its_entertainment_6586753_31764.html Red Eye Records in Sydney also has it as a preordered import for $34-ish: http://www.redeye.com.au/answer.asp?reion=USA&atype=both&artist=Celtic+Thunder&code=&search=search BTW - I highly recommend Red Eye, they are awesome and will help you find virtually anything you're looking for. ![]() There's also at least one person selling it (in Oz) on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Celtic-Thunder-Its-Entertainment-SPECIAL-EDITION-CD_W0QQitemZ400102493454QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_CDs?hash=item5d27f78d0e You could also try US retailers (Amazon, etc), but as far as I can tell, the price difference is negligible.

I got my appointment letter for my citizenship test today and the appointment was two days ago. (I've posted about it in another thread). Then as I was driving to the post office, smoke starts billowing out from the engine. It looks like it's blown a head. Not having a very good day today. |

It won't. ![]() Unless the album's been released in your location, you'll get a nasty little error message. This is one of the big reasons why I don't bother with iTunes (as well as being a sound quality snob ).

Someone emailed me regarding usenet, and I accidentally deleted the message (from the server, not recoverable). To access Usenet, or Newsgroups, you need at the least, an email program, most will support newsgroups. This would be accessed under the same menu you'd use to add an email account. Most newsgroups are text based only. The main ones I frequent are rec.crafts.metalworking and alt.machines.cnc. As you can see, the names pretty much denote what the group is at least -supposed- to be covering. Pictures and sound files can be posted to binaries newsgroups, my favorite is alt.binaries.pictures.aviation. Such files have to be coded into text files which look like gibberish. I'd say most images can be posted to a single file, but larger files such as .mpg and mp3 files are almost always posted in multipart, meaning there can be anywhere from 2 to 20 or more segments that must be decoded and recombined to recreate the original file. There are a number of encoding schemes, most email programs should have no problem with most of them in single-part form. However an increasingly common encoding/compression scheme is Yenc and many email programs cannot decode these. For Yenc, I use Agent, and Xananews. Agent is a paid program, Xananews is a freebie. Agent can be used as a full fledged email program as well and you can lock messages to prevent deletion. To access newsgroups, you must contact your ISP and see if they offer newsgroups as part of your package. Some ISP's here have dropped them, as with mine, Comcast. I use Agent's Forte service and pay 2.99/5Gb of downloads. It's billed on a demand basis, so if I stay with text only, it goes a LONG way. There are free newservers, but few carry binaries groups due to the size and number of files. To find something you want, you need to try and figure out which groups seem related. If you want MP3 files, when you go to subscribe to a group, you can search on MP3, and it'll show only those groups with MP3 in the name. There is another program, Grabbit, that allows you to search for a particular keyword and it will search all groups through it's server. You can do 3 free searches a day, or pay a fairly nominal sum for unlimited searching. Now, newsgroups are sort of the seedy underbelly of the internet. Forte currently carries over 106,000 newsgroups! And I dare say, just about anything you can conceive, is posted there somewhere. If you have kids, not a good idea to let them have unfettered access. Some groups suggest in the name they are moderated, but in general, it's a free-for-all and totally uncontrolled. Oh, and be very careful about what you download, there are people posting small .avi files in many or most of the binaries groups. Not hard to accidentally tag and download one, they are viruses or trojans. Until you are comfortable with what you're doing, scan all binaries before executing! When you subscribe to a group, make sure you set the properties to download headers only on binaries groups. Your first foray into a group might show 100,000+ posts, and even the headers alone will take a long time to download. You can limit how many headers to D/L by default and can generally mark those not downloaded as 'read' meaning you won't see them again. I'd say that newsgroups is more anonymous than Limewire, but in general, you have to work harder to get files you might want, if looking for specifics. Give it a shot. The majority of it IMHO, is a waste of electrons. But there are some good groups covering crafts, cooking, help and support, and many other topics. Oh, if you have a tolerant sense of humor, I'd suggest alt.binaries.humor.skewed. Yeah, there's bound to be something there to offend anyone, but some danged funny stuff too. |

I'm so pissed off and disgusted right now. Someone has been going through my mail - obviously looking for money or something else valuable. I got three letters in the mail today - personal letters with news clippings about the recent death of my grandfather - all without envelopes. Letters containing the pin numbers for the new bank accounts my husband and I set up are missing. Possibly missing are three books I got sent from the US to review. We went to the post office and set up a post office box with a redirect for ALL our mail. Then we went to the bank, explained what happened, and set things up to the post office address. We also put a lock on our box just in case. I feel so... like my privacy has been violated. Some idiots' hands have been all over my personal mail. Even the little pamphlet from my grandfather's funeral. Sigh. I hate this flat. I hate this suburb. However, I love this thread.
