Just turned in the last of my paperwork today for my Spouse Visa and was wondering if anyone has had CO E.R. in Washington before and what your turn around time was like? I saw someone else had their paperwork collected yesterday and visa granted yesterday and was wondering if I've got hours, days, or weeks ahead of me until I should be expecting news on mine? Thanks in advance! |

And sorry if this needed to go in the visa processing timeline section instead of here. |

The average wait has been a little under 3 months lately for applications lodged in the US. E.R. is relatively new at the DC office. I only know of one other person that has had that CO (Jaz) and unfortunately she's been patiently waiting for quite awhile (since January, I think). BUT every visa application is different and no one knows what really goes on in that office, so who knows. I would be prepared to wait several weeks... I know that's probably not what you want to hear but now is your time to start packing and organizing your things for the big move. When my PMV was granted after 3 months of waiting I felt like life tripled in speed! I wish I would have organized my life a bit better for the move while I was sitting around and waiting! Where is your spouse right now? Is he/she with you? |

I've actually been packed since February as I've been living in Australia since Feb 2005 and thought I'd go back over on another visa and apply in country for the Spouse Visa, but I realized last minute that wasn't possible so I've been waiting since then. I actually got engaged February 5th, the day my Fiance was going back to Australia, and haven't seen him since then so I'm really hoping that the visa is granted fairly quickly. Thanks for the info on E.R., knowing that I might have to wait a little bit is better than not knowing at all

E.R. is on the ball! She emailed me yesterday to tell me she got the last of my paperwork and that I needed to do a phone interview with her so I told her anytime yesterday would work for me. She didn't call or email me back so I messaged her when I got up this morning and she just called me and we did the phone interview and she said she'd send me through the email sometime today letting me know my visa has been granted!! |

Thanks again everyone, I'm leaving a week from today. I can't wait to Steve again after 3 months apart, though a teeny tiny part of me is bummed I'll be missing the great summer weather here and going to baseball games

Jaz, still waiting? I hope not! I arrived a week ago and it's been nice to see Steve, but it is so darn cold so enjoy the warm weather in the Northern Hemisphere while you wait for that visa

Jaz is in Melbourne (and it's sorta kinda cold but not TOO bad yet). I believe Joe is still in Alaska... Being an ignorant American hehehe, I am going to venture a guess and say Alaska is still pretty chilly at this time of the year.

What! Seriously? :D I just did a search and it says average temperature in May (for Anchorage, at least) is 55 degrees F. That's not shorts weather to me! But then again... I don't break out the warm weather wear until at least the low 70's... XD
