Sounds like I was right... your CO really IS clueless. ![]() I'm really really sorry you were jerked around like that. Did some digging on the DIAC site, and apparently PMVs have completely different rules. While you can be granted PR immediately if you're applying for a spouse/defacto visa, it seems you can't go directly from a PMV to permanent residence, no matter how long you've been in the relationship. A little known fact, I guess... On the bright side, as Lisa says, you got your visa granted (relatively) quickly... |

If it were me in this situation, I'd call in on the main info line and explain what happened. I'd ask gently what could be done to improve training and/or the system so that this doesn't happen to someone else, as your case officer may be new, but they really need to train them effectively on the visas that they're dealing with. |
