Just an FYI:

FBI received my background check request on or around 01/07.
The report was received at my parents' house in the States around 01/09.

So just about 8 weeks or so.

Yep, that sounds about right. Looks like their avg wait time is around 7-8 wks.
Much better than their default reply of 13 wks -- eek.

This timeline is reassuring! My prints went off about 6 weeks ago, so I'm hoping to hear something soon. Apparently the FBI can't even confirm whether or not they received the prints until 10 weeks have passed...

Bit of a weird thing with my fingerprints though - I gave the police an express post registered envelope to send them off, but apparently this doesn't make a difference to postage time. The cop I spoke to told me that they couldn't guarantee the prints would go express post or even get scanned to active the tracking number. Apparently this is because all mail gets sent to some police sorting center?

As a result I've found myself out of pocket for some very expensive postage and am dealing with 6-weeks of not knowing where my prints are! Really frustrating.
